Dalbey Education Hosts Sixth Computer Recycling Event in Westminster

Recycling drop-off offered free for community on Saturday, September 20th.

Dalbey Education, along with the Mountain 99.5FM radio, is hosting its quarterly, free community recycling event. The event is free of charge, Saturday, September 20, 2008, 9:00am-12:00pm at Dalbey Education’s Westminster headquarters located at 7233 Church Ranch Boulevard.

The goal is to provide residents and businesses in the Denver Metro area with an opportunity to properly dispose of old, obsolete or unusable computer equipment. Collecting and recycling old computer equipment is important as computers contain mercury and other toxic elements that are harmful to the people, wildlife and the environment if not disposed of properly.

Dalbey Education has collected over 40,000 lbs. of local computer equipment, or 20 tons, this year from its free recycling events. This is the sixth recycling event of its kind hosted by Dalbey Education as part of its company-wide community outreach and volunteer initiatives.

“Working with our local partners, we feel good knowing we are providing these valuable services to the community,” said Dalbey Education founder and CEO Russ Dalbey. “We are providing a convenient way for folks to discard unwanted computer equipment, reclaiming any material that can be recycled to minimize the amount of waste and safely disposing of potentially hazardous material that could otherwise damage our environment.”

A team of more than 25 Dalbey Education employee volunteers will be at the drive-up and drop-off location to assist visitors unloading their vehicles. Items accepted include – but are not limited to – computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, modems, televisions and radios.
